Requirements

Must:
We are looking for candidates who have a Bachelor's degree in technology or a related field, or equivalent experience. You should possess strong leadership skills developed through a minimum of 5 years of experience leading engineering teams. We expect you to have experience with server-side languages and frameworks including Java with Spring, or C# with .NET 5. Additionally, familiarity with client-side languages such as Vue.js, ReactJS, or Angular is necessary. Experience with build/package/deploy tools such as Gradle, Maven, NPM, and/or GitHub Actions is also required, along with knowledge of relational database services like SQL Server and/or Postgres. You should have experience with cloud services, specifically AWS, and have familiarity with architectural best practices. A deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and modern engineering practices is crucial, as is the ability to analyze resource capacity needs. We value collaboration and require strong interpersonal communication skills along with a proven ability to work within teams, promote innovation, and solve problems effectively.

Responsibilities

As the Manager of Software Engineering, you will take ultimate accountability for the technology solutions we create, integrate, and implement. You will work hands-on with your team, engaging in code reviews, peer programming, testing, and solution development. Your role will involve leading your team on strategic initiatives, providing clear, concise, and timely communication and direction. You will actively participate in architectural and solutioning exercises with other teams to support the uptime and availability of production systems, ensuring we meet organizational SLAs. Your leadership will include setting clear expectations, developing team goals aligned with departmental and organizational objectives, and fostering a positive team culture. You will monitor and assess team performance, provide guidance for improvement, and promote cross-functional learning to support personal development.
