Must:
- For the Network/System Engineer III position: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of related technical experience in a help desk or technical environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- For the Network/System Engineer II position: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of related technical experience in a help desk or technical environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- For the Network/System Engineer I position: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of related technical experience in a help desk or technical environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
As a Network Systems Engineer/Technician in our Division of Technology and Court Research’s Database Administration team, I will assign you to assist in the operation of our Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:
- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of database systems.
- Management of database upgrades, patching, and backups.
- Database performance monitoring and tuning.
- Analyzing logs to troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
- Collaborating with development teams to design and implement relational database schemas.
- Writing and debugging PL/SQL or T-SQL procedures.
- SQL query optimization.
- Creating and maintaining scripts to automate database tasks.
- Working with cloud-hosted databases and related technologies, such as Azure SQL and Databricks.
While we prefer candidates with experience related to these responsibilities, we are also willing to train candidates who possess a strong background in computer science.

The Network/System Engineer positions are offered in various levels, with salaries ranging from $82,198 to $107,629 per year, depending on the level of experience. These roles are non-competitive classifications and are located in our Office of Court Administration - Division of Technology & Court Research, Troy, NY.
We ensure that our roles provide a supportive environment, fostering growth and development among our employees. The positions require in-person attendance, with a schedule from Monday to Friday during day shifts, and are designed to foster collaboration within our teams.
