Requirements
Must:
- An active Secret clearance is required.
- Candidates must be U.S. citizens with no dual citizenship due to agency and contract requirements.
- This is an on-site position at a government facility, requiring presence five days per week in Colorado Springs, CO.
- Candidates must reside within a commutable distance.
- Participation in a rotational on-call schedule for emergency page-outs is required.
- A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is necessary.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience working as a system administrator on Linux or Red Hat systems is required; related experience is acceptable.
- Preferred certifications include Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
Responsibilities
- I manage and support the RHEL-based server infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and patch management.
- I perform system administration tasks for RHEL 7.x/8.x, focusing on setup, configuration, and ongoing maintenance.
- I monitor and analyze system performance to identify and resolve bottlenecks, implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- I execute system backup and recovery operations to ensure data protection and high availability.
- I assess and recommend hardware and software solutions to address business needs and improve the RHEL server environment.
- I develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
- I conduct vulnerability assessments using tools like Tenable, HP WebInspect, and similar platforms.
- I investigate security incidents, assess risks, and design mitigation strategies, implementing proactive and reactive measures to enhance security.
