We require a motivated, career-oriented individual to fill the position of Information System Security Officer (ISSO) at our Hanover, MD location. To be considered, you must have: - Ten (10) years of experience as an ISSO with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university. Alternatively, four (4) years of additional experience as an ISSO may substitute for a bachelor’s degree. - Compliance with DoD 8570 for Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level 1 or higher. - Experience in at least two (2) of the following areas: knowledge of current security tools/hardware/software security implementation, communication prototype, and encryption techniques/tools.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for the following: - Ensuring the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for an Information System (IS). - Developing and updating System Security Plans (SSPs). - Managing and controlling changes to the system and assessing the security impact of those changes. - Incorporating and implementing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) daily, and educating management on its necessity for maximum data security. - Performing Nessus Vulnerability and Compliance scans on all operating system hardware, interpreting technical aspects and security assessment results, and developing a plan to mitigate any negative findings. - Creating and implementing security policies, standards, and procedures to protect sensitive information.

Description

Preferred qualifications for this position include: - Experience deploying and configuring security scanning tools for continuous monitoring processes. - Experience providing detailed analyses of security architecture documentation and vulnerability assessments. - Experience managing various tickets to assist in configuration management (CM) of the information system, firewall implementations, SSP changes, and account management. - Experience designing and implementing Plans of Action and Milestones (POAM) to remediate findings from assessments. - Experience reviewing, preparing, and updating ATO packages in accordance with NIST Risk Management Framework and relevant customer policies. Additionally, you must have current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance and must be a US Citizen. Physical requirements include the ability to move, carry, and deliver workstations within the office, remaining stationary for 50% of the time, and effectively communicating with co-workers, management, and customers. The projected compensation range for this position is between $134,700.00 and $224,700.00.
