Requirements
Must:
- I require candidates to have a minimum of 15 years of progressive experience with US Navy operational and Warfare Systems, specifically in ship design, systems integration, maintenance, and modernization, as well as warfare systems/platform experience with carriers, DDGs, CGs, LCS, LHD/A, LPDs, or land-based test sites.
- U.S. Citizenship and an Active Secret Security Clearance are mandatory.
- A detailed understanding of US Navy system architecture and combat systems across logical, functional, hardware, and software components is essential.
- I look for operational knowledge of US Navy combatants, weapon systems, and threats.
- The ability to write clear, concise, and easily readable technical correspondence to document technical recommendations following technical reviews and collating comments is important.
- Strong oral and written presentation skills, high organizational capabilities, and the ability to multi-task to meet deadlines are necessary.
- Experience in working with dynamic programs that have fluctuating scope and require integrated coordination of multiple engineering disciplines is desired.
Responsibilities
- In this role, I will expect you to serve as the Warfare Systems Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and Government Furnished Information (GFI) technical engineering support for the government client, facilitating the development and configuration management of Interface Control Agreements (ICAs), Installation Control Drawings (ICDs), and ship integration changes for both current and future DDG(X) models.
- You will maintain and update the Design Guidance Memorandum (DGM-026) – Installation Control Drawings (ICDs) as needed and develop additional Design Guidance or management strategies in coordination with Cross Product Teams (CPT/IPTs).
- I will rely on you to develop a schedule and track progress on multiple studies and concurrent development programs to support the updating of ICDs and ICAs.
- You will prepare and manage Warfare Systems inputs to the Risks & Opportunities Management Board and provide assessments of risks and opportunities regarding concurrent development projects.
- I need you to assess Technical Readiness Levels and Integration Readiness Levels of warfare systems to the platform and coordinate with NAVSEA 05, PMS 460, PEO SHIP’s Government Equipment Management, and other stakeholders to review or develop ship integration changes.
- Your experience with the AEGIS Combat System will be valuable for making design decisions and providing inputs to Topside and General Arrangements drawings and Installation Control Documents (ICDs).
- I expect you to coordinate combat systems and C4I systems integration and engage with internal and external stakeholders to develop materials for the Warfare Systems IPT.
- Leading technical reviews and engineering meetings that follow the Set Based Design format and DDG(X) adopted systems engineering processes will be part of your tasks, along with providing technical feedback and interacting with clients and subcontractors.
- You will be responsible for leading engineering and system working groups, identifying and resolving system issues, collaborating with the DDG(X) ship design team, and supporting analyses of proposed ship Warfare/Combat Systems self-defense capabilities.

Preferred candidates will have a B.S. or Advanced Degree in engineering, analysis, or a related discipline, along with a detailed understanding of weapons, sensors, and command and control systems. Additionally, possessing experience with the operation, training, and readiness of Navy vessels will be advantageous. Candidates with 20+ years of progressive experience in US Navy operational and Warfare Systems will be favored.
The anticipated pay range for this position is between $126,100.00 and $227,950.00, which serves as a guideline and not a guarantee of compensation. Factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, and skills will be considered in extending an offer.
