Virtualization Enterprise Systems Engineer

- I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related MIS field. An advanced degree is preferred. I may substitute relevant experience in Information Technology in lieu of a degree. - I have 8+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing virtual and/or storage infrastructure. - I possess expert knowledge of VMware vSphere data center, vCenter Server Appliance (vCSA), ESXi hypervisor, PhotonOS, vSphere Update Manager (vUM) or Lifecycle Manager (vLM), VM Hardware version, VMTools, VM Remote Console (VMRC), High Availability (HA), and Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS). - I am skilled with datastores, OVFTool, RVTools, VM templates, VM snapshots, content library subscriptions, cloning, role-based access control (RBAC) groups, privileges, and enterprise tier 2 support for VM system owners. - I have strong knowledge using Storage Area Networks (SAN), Disk Array Enclosures (DAEs), Fiber Channel fabric OS, Ethernet/KVM switch port technologies, vSphere Standard Switches (vSS) or Distributed Switches (vDS). - I have an aptitude to test and interact with new software technologies in environments with third-party monitoring tools to track overall health and availability of applications. - I have experience with server rack-mounted hardware, software, firmware, drivers, BIOS/UEFI, Trusted Platform Modules (TPM) devices, and FIPS 140-2 chipsets. - I possess strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve complex technical issues related to VMware and storage technologies. - I have strong knowledge of scripting with PowerShell, VMware PowerCLI, and Bash. - I demonstrate expert knowledge of vSphere products and capabilities, Out-of-Band products, and SAN access and capabilities. - I am a self-starter with refined critical thinking skills, capable of directing the activities of team members. I am diplomatic, multi-task capable, adaptable to a dynamic environment, dependable, and reliable. - I understand that prior experience in a government consulting services environment is required, and this position may require up to 20% travel. - I must meet both 8140 and 8750 certification requirements as outlined by the customer. This includes a DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification: CompTIA Security+ CE or higher, and at least one or more DoDM 8140.03 Computing Environment/Operating System (CE/OS) requirement(s) such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP) for Data Center Virtualization, or any VMware Certified Advanced Professional Certification. - I possess an active DoD Secret clearance.
