Quality Engineer

As a Quality Engineer, I will task you with leading production quality-focused projects to support our new production startup in Ladson, SC. Your specific responsibilities will include: - Performing internal, external, and supplier audits in accordance with ISO 9001 standards, creating audit finding reports, determining and initiating corrective and preventative actions, and closing out audit findings. - Facilitating the escalation of unresolved supplier quality issues, including issuing Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCAR). - Developing and improving production processes and procedures to meet and exceed acceptable quality levels for supplier performance standards. - Understanding requirements and assisting with ensuring appropriate flow down into the supply chain while working closely with functional managers, cross-functional staff, and key subcontractors to ensure quality outputs, aiming to minimize rework, waste, and maximize customer satisfaction. - Supporting the development and collection of performance metrics. - Providing timely metrics and audit outcomes to Quality Management to gauge progress toward quality objectives. - Developing weekly and monthly reports that measure trends over time and highlight performance issues with mitigation strategies. - Reporting quality status and quality issues, along with resolution plans, to Quality Management. - Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that objectives are understood and incorporated into a framework of continuous improvement. - Ensuring adherence to all standards, Leidos policies, and best practices. - Demonstrating the ability to multitask, complete tasks without direct supervision, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. - Exhibiting excellent verbal and written skills and proficiency with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Visio, & PowerPoint). - Being available to support domestic and international travel. - Overseeing the SES Non-conforming Material Process & Material Review Board (MRB) for your specific site. - Completing other duties as assigned by the Program Quality Manager.
