- Required Skillset:
- Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network troubleshooting and support
- Comprehensive knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software
- Comprehensive knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications
- Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI
- Required Certifications:
- DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract
- IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent
- Required Computing Environment (CE) certification: CCNA or equivalent
- Location: On Customer Site
- Additional:
- Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract
- Position may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activity
- Travel may be required to support the mission
Responsibilities
As an IT Certified Professional - Senior, I will be responsible for:
- Conducting complex testing and analysis of all network facilities including power, software, communication devices, lines, modems, and terminals.
- Monitoring and controlling the performance and status of network resources.
- Potentially leading within the department and providing guidance to less experienced personnel.
- Applying basic Cisco router/switch commands and programming the initial network gear setups.
- Working independently and collaboratively with other IT teams without supervision.
- Being available to travel on short notice when required.
- Understanding desktop system troubleshooting and imaging techniques.
- Conducting hardware infrastructure site surveys, planning, and design.
- Making recommendations on hardware, cabling, and equipment requirements.
- Managing installation processes including creating lists of materials, estimating timelines, determining team requirements, successfully executing installation projects, and documenting project statuses.
- Planning, building, and installing cable patch panels and infrastructures.
- Installing and terminating all types of standard IT cable and fiber.
- Installing equipment racks and installations in various locations such as data centers, equipment rooms, and user workspaces.
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues with network infrastructure and components.
- Recommending changes or technology upgrades based on performance and industry best practices.

Scheduled weekly hours for this role are 40, with less than 10% travel required. The position is onsite in Charlottesville, Virginia, and may involve physically demanding tasks associated with IT hardware installations.
