Requirements
Must:
- I have at least 8 years of IT experience.
- I possess a proven technical background with a high degree of comfort in Linux, Oracle databases, AWS cloud, networking concepts, and ITSM-based methodologies.
- I bring experience working in a production support role, focusing on building reliability through observability and resiliency practices.
- I am skilled in identifying opportunities to drive efficiencies, improvements, and add value to reduce toil and enhance customer experience.
- I have experience with relational database systems and cloud-based data warehouses, such as Snowflake, to triage issues or research business requests.
- I am familiar with batch scheduling tools (e.g., Autosys/Control-M) and ETL processing to troubleshoot batch failures, long-running processes, and lead conversations ensuring cycles complete within defined SLAs.
- I am experienced with automated deployment tools and techniques (e.g., Concourse, Jenkins, Udeploy).
- It’s a plus if I have experience with a scripting language (Python, Java, C++).
- I possess a passion for technology and strong problem-solving skills.
- I have a proactive mindset to identify opportunities to add value and drive efficiencies.
- I have experience in automating manual processes using my scripting expertise.
- I bring leadership and technical skills to navigate production issues or customer requests effectively.
- I have experience leading crisis or high-impact incident calls to mitigate issues and drive postmortem discussions.
- I am passionate about improving team operations and training teammates.
- I possess strong communication skills and take a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- I have expertise within IT Service Management processes and policies.
Responsibilities
- I support a portfolio of critical applications running in a sophisticated, globally distributed environment.
- I apply my technical expertise and leadership experience to improve stability and customer experience, while identifying solutions to challenging technical problems.
- I participate in an on-call rotation with other team members to provide outstanding support to our customers (weekend rotation required).
- I assist with the successful rollout of new products by coordinating the activities required for launch and ongoing support.
- I advocate for production stability and supportability by working directly with engineering teams to find opportunities for improvements.
Description
We are looking for a technologist to join our Enterprise Infrastructure Production support team. In this role, I will provide production support for applications and infrastructure that are part of the Asset Management Business at Fidelity. I will collaborate with the Asset Management Business teams, Asset Management Technology teams, and teams within our Enterprise Infrastructure and Operations division. This is a superb opportunity for anyone looking to leverage their Cloud, Database, and Middle-tier technical skills and experience to enhance production stability, reliability, and resiliency. We emphasize a customer-obsessed production support culture and continuously seek opportunities to drive efficiencies. Our diverse team operates globally (24/7), supporting both Production and Non-production environments for the Asset Management Business.
