Requirements
Must:
- 4 years of experience in data governance or data management, or in a related area as a Business Analyst.
- 4 years of experience working directly with program/business staff to implement a technical solution.
- 4 years of experience engaging with and preparing verbal and written communications and presentations for non-technical staff.
- 4 years of experience guiding stakeholders in managing change related to technology and business processes.
- 4 years of experience working with cross-functional teams.
- 2 years of preferred experience documenting business and technical metadata.
- 2 years of preferred experience with Informatica data governance tools (Axon, Enterprise Data Catalog, and/or Informatica Data Quality).
- 2 years of preferred experience working with public health program areas or data assets.
Responsibilities
As a Business Analyst, I will review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs, formulating systems that align with our overall business strategies. I will be responsible for the advanced business analysis related to a metadata library project, assisting the Office of Data Governance and Information Technology teams. My duties will include developing and implementing standardized documentation of business and technical metadata for all agency data within governance tools. I will communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with a variety of stakeholders, including direct collaboration with public health program staff. Additionally, I will plan, monitor, and report on program engagement and progress toward fully documenting the metadata library. Attention to detail will be critical, as I navigate various program areas in this fast-paced project. I must be self-motivating, demonstrating a strong initiative and work ethic.
Description
This is a 4-month contract position based in Austin, with the possibility of extending up to 1 year. The role requires working in the office 4 days a week, with the option to work remotely on Fridays. Experience in documenting business and technical metadata and working with public health data is preferred.
