Responsibilities
- I am responsible for planning and coordinating the future state of our Enterprise Telecom/Data networks, ensuring alignment with our information management vision and strategy.
- I design network solutions that meet our organizational needs, prioritize projects, manage service requests, and oversee routine assignments.
- I analyze Voice/Data network configurations related to critical corporate resources, developing plans and recommendations for improved performance and efficiency while preventing unplanned disruptions of critical systems.
- I integrate system components, subsystems, facilities, and services into our existing technical environment, assessing impacts on other systems and collaborating with fellow associates for positive outcomes. I also install, configure, and verify system operations, maintaining or improving integrations and operations across various projects.
- I design, implement, and oversee proactive processes to collect and report data on our internetworking environment, ensuring systems operate efficiently and meet organizational needs. I keep systems updated with the latest stable versions, perform research and testing on updates, coordinate vendor support, and monitor performance.
- I provide training to my team members and clients as needed and maintain in-depth knowledge and current certifications in data/voice technologies, including relevant vendor certifications.
- I undertake other duties as assigned.
Description
I serve in a strategic role as a Telecommunications Engineer II, bringing expert-level technical skill and expertise in Telecom Network Engineering. My position involves both the high-level design and tactical execution of Telecom operations, managing and maintaining critical data and voice networks. With extensive knowledge in operational maintenance, capacity planning, and monitoring of essential systems such as Voice (PBX/VoIP) and Wide Area Networks, I translate business requirements into technical specifications, enabling the development of scalable and flexible enterprise solutions. Additionally, I mentor junior engineers and oversee plans and designs for both existing and new telecom network installations. My day-to-day activities include telecom provisioning, performance tuning, scripting for automation, error tracking, and addressing interoperability issues, while also functioning as a key member of a cross-functional team that provides third-level support for network technologies.
