Requirements

Must:
- I have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - I possess experience in SQL database administration and maintenance. - I am proficient in Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL. - I have strong experience with query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning. - I am knowledgeable about backup & recovery strategies, high availability/disaster recovery solutions, and replication techniques. - I have experience with database security, user access management, and compliance standards. - I am proficient in T-SQL, PowerShell scripting, or automation tools. - Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL) is a plus. - I have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

- I will perform routine maintenance of SQL databases, including indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning. - I will monitor database health, ensuring optimal performance and uptime. - I will apply patches and updates to maintain database security and compliance. - I will manage database capacity planning and storage optimization. - I will analyze and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies. - I will identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, deadlocks, and slow queries. - I will implement best practices for database performance monitoring and tuning. - I will develop and manage backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity. - I will perform regular database backups, restores, and disaster recovery drills. - I will configure and manage high availability (HA) and failover clustering solutions. - I will implement and maintain database security best practices, including user access control and encryption. - I will ensure compliance with data protection regulations. - I will conduct security audits and apply necessary security patches. - I will automate routine maintenance tasks using SQL scripts, PowerShell, or third-party tools. - I will set up and maintain database monitoring tools to track performance, errors, and anomalies. - I will generate and analyze reports on database usage, performance, and capacity trends. - I will identify and resolve database issues, connectivity problems, and application-related queries. - I will provide on-call support for critical database-related incidents and work closely with developers and IT teams. - I will maintain up-to-date database documentation, including configurations, procedures, and best practices. - I will develop and enforce SQL coding standards and guidelines for database development. - I will provide training and support to internal teams on database best practices.

Description

This is a full-time position with a salary range of $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year. I offer benefits including a 401(k) with matching, dental and health insurance, health savings accounts, life insurance, paid time off, parental leave, referral programs, tuition reimbursement, and vision insurance. The work schedule is a day shift from Monday to Friday, with no weekends required. This position is based in-person in Dallas, TX, and requires candidates to relocate before starting work.
